    • For what it is worth, Dr. David Allen White saw Grimm's and other fairytales as ultimately beneficial and a part of Catholic culture. He described them as "one of the glues that held generations together." 

    He talks about fairytales in detail in the middle of his intro talk about David Copperfield:

    He starts talking about fairytales 36 min 36 seconds in. At about 39 minutes in he starts talking about the role of dark themes in fairy tales.  

    Not saying this is necessarily the only Catholic viewpoint on the subject, but definitely worth a listen.
