  • This is a day late for many of you, but for me and the rest of us in the U.S., it's still her feast day, albeit the evening.  She's one of my patrons.

But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.

  • Sorry about yet another link-- a painting this time.  I like this one because it contains six saints along with the Blessed Virgin Mary:  St. Paul, St. John the Baptist, St. Jerome, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Margaret of Antioch and St. Mary Magdalen.  (St. Mary Magdalen is another one of my patrons).

BTW, the footnotes are really great in the link for the middle english poem.
You have to click on the side bar.

  • It's good to read, and to read you paying your respects to your patron saint Magdalena.

Saints are always especially appreciative of those who show their love on their feast days.
    Sincerely,

Thanks, shin.  I belong to the Third Order of St. Francis, as well.  But I have to redo it, as I was professed when in the Novus Ordo.  I always was "traditional" though--none of that hokey stuff.   Oh, and for expectant mothers...  St. Margaret of Antioch is the patron of childbirth.  AND one of the voices heard by St. Joan of Arc!

  • Hers was one of the voices that spoke to Joan of Arc.
