  • Hi! I just registered and now I may get in trouble (!), but I thought you might like to read a post regarding the use of Flannery O'Connor in traditional Catholic schools, by analyzing the short story "Revelation."  The link is to my blog,  and I would appreciate helpful criticism.

I don't know why I haven't registered before. I searched for Flannery in the search box, but it seems only to take one to google, not a search of the forum. This forum might love Flannery! After all, there are many traditionalists who do, and some even have gotten on the beatification bandwagon.

  • I confess to not being a fan of O'Conner; I'm just too dense to "get" her.

I read one story by her because I heard a talk by Dr. White recommending her.

I don't remember the title but it was about the young man who went back to his mother's farm because he thought he was dying and then ended up w/a chronic illness because he drank the milk.

I was so depressed by the end of it I wanted to jump off the roof...

I have the same reaction to Edith Wharton by the way.

    And most of Dickens.

    And all of Hardy.

I guess I'm a neanderthal when it comes to literature.

PS,  hmmm...  For some reason Charles' last name is hashed out???
PPS, not me who gave you thumbs down by the way
