Hello, I would like recommendations for books and history books about the Wild West, preferably by classic authors and stories without excessive immorality!

I red and liked Fr. De Smitt, by Tan publishers? He worked among the indians in the mid 1800s maybe 1860's after cινιℓ ωαr.   The gov't asked his help now and then.  The Indians loved him, a group called the "flatheads".  funny name, but he had conversions and such. Towards the end, the gov't rounded up the Indians and would allow all sects on the reservation, but not Catholics.

Very interesting book.Another book, diary by Father Sheehan during cινιℓ ωαr.  I hope I have the name spelled correctly.  He was a Catholic Priest from the South.  You will read a most different picture of cινιℓ ωαr times compared to what you were given in school to read.
