I'm looking for an educational French film titled "La Nuit Silencieuse" - The Night of Silence. It was probably made between 1900-1950, though closer to 1950 I'm assuming. It is about a Catholic school in France where deaf, dumb, and blind girls and boys, taken care of by Sisters and Brothers, were taught Christianity through their sense of touch.

So far querying AI and brief searches of some French movie/cinema related databases have not returned the desired result.

Found that title of a film made in 1939. It was also called "Le Silence de la Trappe". (Trappists).

There is a tiny reporting of it in a newspaper., saying that is was a great production, and pulled the heart strings.

Sure, you are welcome. I learned a lot researching this topic...Now I appreciate my 2 eyes, hearing and speech to a higher degree. Many are living / facing daily challenges - employment for starters.

Actually, in 2023 it was announced that the ancient Monastery of "La Trappe" in Normany France will close their doors in 2028, because of few vocations. And the cherry on the top is the Headline "Le Silence de la Trappe", obviously making reference to that 1939 film, as a historical echo, but today's 'silence' is it's emptiness. Novus Ordo casualty... As + Stobnicki said about Modernism: it is death to many aspects of civilization and of the supernatural.

I hope you can read French! Société France-Film paid for part of this film; they are in Montreal. . maybe they know where the film is.??
