  • I am trying to find a famous artwork ~ the scene of which shows Our Lord Jesus Christ being led out to the streets as He turns to look at Peter in the crowd of hecklers.

THE moment of conversion for Peter (this was after he denied Our Lord), remembering the promise to build His Church on Peter "the Rock".

  • Thanks Stella!
    This is a beautiful one!
But the one I am looking for is one that has Our Lord locking His gaze on to Peter with a certain amount of agony and Peter is seen with his eyes wide open - a moment of realization!
The scene is a very active scene, you can feel the crowds pushing each other and you can feel Our Lord walking past Peter and turning His head to let Peter know - Peter remember everything I told you, everything I taught you, everything that has been revealed to you, it is you Peter who was chosen.
That was quite a memorable painting mainly because of the look on Peter's face, and it totally matches Fr. Pfeiffer's sermon in Jersey City when he says "Conversus Dominum", I suddenly remembered the painting.
    I appreciate the help.
It's supposed to be a famous one, by a famous artist.
