In 'The Virgin, the Copts, and Me,' director Namir Abdel Meeseeh takes a personal and skeptical approach to the apparitions. but he uses them as a means of analyzing the relationships between Coptic Christians and Muslims in Egypt. He notes that both groups revere the Virgin Mary. The apparitions were witnessed by Gamal nasser, among countless others.
The apparitions were seen over a Coptic Church in the Zeitoun district of Cairo. They were thoroughly investigated by the Coptic ORTHODOX AUTHORITIES AND BY the civil authorities. there was no natural explanation found for the phenomenon.
