  • This company has a number of old Tan titles, most at sale prices:

    https://libers-com.3dcartstores.com/Tan-Titles_c_11.html

I'm not connected to them in any way, just a bookaholic.

Anyone know of a 12 step program?

"My name is Emile and I...I...I  ...am a bookaholic."

  • Hi Emile...welcome to the club.

Wow this site has Tan's How Christ Said The First Mass for $10.50, half the regular price!
This book should be in every Catholic's library.  It gives all the tradition and reason why we Catholics worship and do what we do,(or should be doing)  everything has a specific meaning.
Love this book.  Tan edition is easy to read, almost like a reference book with a description at the top of every one of the 431 pages.

I'm glad to hear that. I've had it on my list of books to get and ordered a copy before I made this post. They also have some St Andrew Missals with defects. I have an original 1925 edition that is in good shape, but I hate to risk damaging it by taking it to Mass with me.

Why not invest in a good zippered cover for your original instead?  Often the binding and quality of the older missals is superior to the new reprints.  Sometimes used leather covers come up on ebay.

  • I've got enough TAN books boxed up, to start my own store!  In fact, if they are books I don't ever foresee using again (and won't regret not having access to, once they're gone), I may do just that, perhaps sell on eBay for a little butter-and-egg money.  When Thomas Nelson ran the show, like the All In The Family theme, "those were the days"!  None better.  Too bad he had to get mixed up in all that promissory note business --- I could see right then, that it was going to sink the company.

(Oops... pardon the reference to liberal Swedish propaganda... next thing I know, I'll develop a monstrous craving for meatballs, crisp bread, and aquavit... or maybe I'll just put some popcorn in the microwave... those darned Swedes!)

  • Emile I didn't know how to take your question if it was a pun or you are serious about the 12 step program.  I have the tan book "The 12 steps to Holiness and salvation.

:laugh1: I was just joking. As I understand it Alcoholics Anσnymσus is known as a "12 step program" and step one is that a person admit that they are an alcoholic. I do probably buy too many books though.

I purchased a missal cover for my wife recently from this site. The gal who makes them did a grand job.
