  • Yes, I have similar thoughts whenever I see Modernist depictions of Christ.

    Yes, that's it. Indeed.

  • I'm almost completely convinced that the "Resurrectifix" is an icon of the Antichrist. It never sat right with me when I was Novus Ordo, and it definitely doesn't now.

    I hate that thing too!

  • "Resurrectifix" is definitely quotable.

    :laugh2:
I got the term from my NO "sponsor", who also despised the image.  :laugh1:

  • I can't stand Marc Chagall. Technically not much of an artist ( although he could sometimes use color well) Just a тαℓмυdic propagandist. His stuff stinks.

My parents were professional portrait artists. My dad couldn't stand Chagall, Picasso, or any modern art or music.  Mom couldn't either. Dad didn't even like Gershwin bc he hated jazz. Dad had a deep respect and love for classical art, especially Catholic art. I think its what made him so Christian-friendly and led to his conversion.

I remember a class I had during my Marxist Indoctrination, I mean College, called "Art Appreciation" wherein we would essentially analyze modern art. I recall one such class wherein we discussed whether landfills transformed into public parks constituted "art" and I told the professor that it was nothing more than "glorified landscaping". We barely touched on any classical works of art in that class.

  • I remember going into a hall of Catholic school for an event.  There were drawings by students hanging up on the walls. Most of it was silly and even some blasphemous but only one student drew a picture of Jesus on a Crucifix. It wasn’t the most artistic but it was the most holy and pleasing to God. And me.
May God bless you and keep you
