  • Hi, This thread will be for some stuff I've done with the computer.  Those two objects where modeled to scale from patent plans found on the Internet.   I never had yet the courage to do any religious art in fear of not being reverent enough.

  • Wow!  I particularly like the 2nd one!  What else do you have?

  • Hi,

I can't believe I have over 250 pieces in my gallery.  When I say I'm obsessive compulsive, I'm not kidding.  :laugh1:

    My gallery is here.

  • Thank you kindly...

I find it hard to make the switch to traditional media since computer allows for so much power in creating images of a high degree of realism.

But I'm enjoying the switch also.  It's more personal.

  • Wow, those are amazing pictures, Vandaler!  :farmer: Would you think putting dinosaurs or other animals in your artwork would be good too?

Yes, the problem with adding living beings is that we all know intuitively what it's supposed to look like, thus, it's difficult to not having it look fake.

My cop out has been to add intriguing objects to my scenes, which in a way, I think, make them more dynamic, but the focus of attention is a sense of wonder into what the object is, rather then, if it look real or not.  Here are a few examples.

Those images are as good as any I've seen of that sci-fi type. I've only ever played around with Terragen and a few others, myself, including 'fly-bys'.

Do you use different software, or primarily one or another?

Thanks, I been very active and curious throughout 2002 to about 2006. Tried just about everything.

I've settled down to these tools.

For landscaping scenes: Mojoworld and Terragen
Modeling, high-end rendering and compositing: Cinema 4D
    Organic modeling: Zbrush and Xfrog
    Human forms: Poser
    Post-production, montage and feel: Photoshop.

I've put that all aside for oil painting now.  We'll see where that goes. At least it tears me away from the screen.
