  • Will it actually be made, though?  He was supposed to make a Viking movie, and a Maccabes movie (the latter I really wanted to see happen).

To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • Will it be live action?  The trailer is animated.

  • Emerentiana,

For the record, not all on here bash Mel Gibson.  I do not see him as a hero, but a flawed man, who desperately needs prayers far more than criticism.

Unlike most of, he has the means to do immense good with his wealth and talents.  I hope that he cooperates with God's Grace to be an instrument of His Will.

I have prayed for him very much in the past, and I will pray for him again today now that I am thinking of him.

He is our brother in Christ, and if every one of us on this forum prayed for him every time we see a post about him, even to say just one ave, this could bring about his complete conversion.

  • Ambrose,
Mel  is a traditional Catholic.  He certainly fell and fell hard.  Who knows he wasnt set up for it?
My prayers are always for him.
Sorry, all!  This movie is not made by Mel Gibson.   My mistake.
I wonder if the producers and film makers are Catholic .

    This is Mel's latest venture.

    Emerentiana,

Yes, I know about Mel Gibson, and I know he loves the Church and the Catholic Faith.   I believe he has certain weaknesses, but that is not a criticism of him. It just means that we need to pray more for our brother.

The last I checked he was going to do a movie on Maccabees, but that might have changed.

  • I don't think this movie is actually being produced by Mel Gibson but by someone who worked on "The Passion." I think it even says that in trailer.

  • I've always felt that Mr. Gibson should make a film on either Saint Edmund Campion, based on the book by Evelyn Waugh, or on Saint John Fisher.  However, I would really love to see him complete The Machabees.  He certainly needs our prayers.
