I'm not sure how hopeful I am for a good film, based on comments like these ...

Gibson has described the sequels as an “acid trip,” adding that he “never read anything like” the scripts, which the filmmaker has been writing alongside Randall Wallace. As the title suggests, the plot is expected to focus on Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

Gibson feels like a psy-op. Though I suppose you can be a participant in a psy-op without realizing it.

Jim Caviezel is a problem, with his ridiculous demonstrations of suffering and kindness. An example, his appearance on the Jay Leno car show:

Everything about Gibson and Caviezel feels so packaged and contained.

I don't know that this was initially the case back in 2004.

Here's Caviezel talking about Auschwitz:

An obvious fraud.

I believe the “acid trip” comment was related to the script’s grandeous plans of showing the angelic battle between St Michael and Lucifer and then the devils in hell reacting to Christ's death on the cross as well as Christ's visit to the Limbo of the Just pre-Easter.

Gibson said that in order to truly understand the significance of Good Friday, and the Resurrection, you have to go back to the beginning and see the origins of Lucifer (maybe even Adam and Eve?) and then explain Eve battle between good and evil, which ultimately, Christ won.

If anyone could direct such a thing, it’s Gibson.  He has an incredible talent.

Well, I think he's hit-or-miss ... with some great, amazing scenes, but others that are horrible.

I'm especially appalled by his casting of that hideous / ugly Jewess as Our Lady in The Passion.
