  •  I probably asked before and just forgot, but I'll ask again now that we've got more members...

Are there any fellow writers here? There seems to be many poets, but I wondered if there were any writers of the rest.
I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • Does non-fiction count?

When I have time, I enjoy writing something or other -- but it's always something non-fiction.

  • Non fiction counts. And it's good, too, provided that the person writing it is properly informed and edified upon the topic of what it is they're writing about.

Of course all writing shares that danger. All of our errors and sinful tendencies pretty much WILL poison our work, as long as we're human and suffer from ignorance and temptations. The only way to get by it is to try harder and harder towards sainthood. If you get rid of the errors and educate yourself in truth, then one's work will at least be much less poisoned. Nobody is perfect, but of course the less flawed a thing is, the better.

  • I've written some poetry myself, but I'd have to sift through it to see what to post.

  • I suggest praying to St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Francis de Sales (who is the patron of writers).

I could use some prayers in that department myself.

  • The people who really have it bad are the ones who write a few good words in a few thousand, and have no idea that the thousands are bad, and the few are good.

Knowing when something is good or not without other people telling you, is a very important skill for a writer to have. If you listen to other people, you will be fit for a straitjacket before too long.

     :faint:

I am a published author with one book out and I have been asked to begin work on the second.  I write non-fiction (trivia, facts, etc.)

Same here, but I've only got one or two published articles, however...
