From where did you acquire a book from 1589? Do you have the actual book or is it a reprint or on line? The oldest actual book I own is a History of the Irish Ancestry from 1795. It’s been in my family from about the 1840’s and was brought to from Ireland to the US about that time.

It's just a Google Books PDF I read on my Kindle. I think the oldest actual book my family owns is a copy of Bossuet's History from the 1700s and a prayer-book from the 1800s (Áncora de Salvación)

Oh, very nice. I'm no expert on it but from what I have gathered about the topic some people don't know the principles of moral theology so they disfigure it, for example Ronald Conte, where they think that since St. Alphonsus comes highly reccomended he settles moral questions, when in truth authors will often state his opinion and the contradictory one of other approved moral theologians as both being acceptable, and sometimes side against him with zero qualms.
