  • Consecration and Dedication by Cardinal Albert Meyer on 9/17/1962.

I thought that I want to share these photos to show how the Church
was growing in American on the eve of Vatican 2 that was 6 weeks
away when these photos were taken.

  • Unfortunately the architectural plans of that seminary were in accord with the Vatican II religion and Teilhardism.

  • Cardinal Albert Meyer was known to be an anti liberal and was quoted
"That a Catholic could not be a Liberal." He died of an heart attacked
at the age of 63 in April 1965, 8 months before the end of Vatican 2
    Council.

  • Interesting pictures.

    The  Chapel is really ugly.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

I afraid that was the spirit of the times. Just sample the ugly architectures
of the 1950's-1960's that was previewing something for the future.
    Apostasy from the True Faith
The times from the mid 1960's to the present in 2012 and perhaps
    the foreseeable future.
These architectures should have been rejected and perhaps not
built in favor of rehabilitating an older building.
The best answer is that Vatican 2 should never have happened,
and that the Constantinian Church with all its rigid disciplines,
and the perfect society been left intact.

    the Constantinian Church

Don't fall into the trap of using such words.  The Catholic Church survived the persecutions, even those of Diocletian, and was victorious.

I agree completely, Tele.  There is something about that period of post-modern design that is patently sinister.  Mathematically, everything seems innocuous but you can take one look at it and know viscerally that something is entirely wrong with it, as though it were the embodiment of an alien and non-Christian knowledge gleefully put on display.

Same with the building itself; with the Futurist bas relief and the general shape, it looks like an Egyptian pylon.
