What a great find, Geremia. Thanks for sharing the link.

Being a bit of a "Francophile" myself, I've learned to appreciate more the story of the Vendee Catholics. One of my favorite quotes is from the youngest general at the time, Henri de la Rochejaquelein:

"Mes amis, si j'avance, suivez-moi! Si je recule, tuez-moi! Si je meurs, vengez-moi!" ("Friends, if I advance, follow me! If I retreat, kill me! If I die, avenge me!").

Plus, there's the story of Blessed Abbe Noel Pinot, who on the way to the guillotine, repeated the phrase, "Introibo ad altare Dei!". These were truly Catholic men who knew how to die a Catholic death. Vive le Roi!

Not to derail the thread, but Blessed Abbe Noel Pinot was born in the same city as the one the Dominicans of Avrille, and now Bishop Faure, are located in, Angers, France. Countless Catholics were martyred in the neighborhoods around their Convent/Monastery building. The Dominicans have a tapestry depicting the ruthless murders of the villagers by the Masonic armies hanging in their chapel's vestibule. There's also a chapel in town, on "Martyr's Field", where countless prayers have been answered by the Martyrs. Those who had received favors would place a "thank you" plaque on the wall in appreciation.
