This was heartening... maybe people finally understand the problem, and are finally ready to wake up and do something about it!

Declaration Entertainment - the values of the PEOPLE, not the corruption of Hollywood?

So apparently there's this organization starting up where people join for a small membership fee, and can then give their input about what kinds of movies they'd like to see... as opposed to only the garbage Hollywood is willing to make, and then movies are produced. It may just be starting up (not much to look at yet) ... but as an idea, it could be revolutionary. Imagine all of the tea-party types who are disgruntled with Hollywood's rank immorality signing up and getting some GOOD movies made! Heck... imagine being able to honestly use the word "good" in reference to a movie, and having it be more than just an expression!

They may never get around to making traditional Catholic pictures... but if they succeed enormously and get as far away from Hollywood's creed of immorality, I dare say it'll be a wonderful step in the right direction!

We had an independent Catholic Media back in the 30's . - Fr. Coughlin. The Vatican torpedoed that effort. Instead of evangelzation, the mystical do nothing apparition movement helped give us what we have now - 24/7/365 Media666 on every channel.

we can take on Hollywood in many ways
-direct confrontation, largely by lay Catholics likely
-not buying their products and not attendings movies or at least, some of the movies
-attacking on intellectual fronts...

we ahve gone from Bishop Sheen, winning the award and all against a Jєω, to MTV, the L word,Oprah, etc,etc..

That's true. Spellman got Cardinal Pacelli to give Fr. Coughlin the heave-ho. Only God knows what they said to the poor priest, because no one ever heard another peep out of him. One day I looked into what happened to him and discovered he died in the early 1970s.

Joe Kennedy palyed arole, he was concerned that his Americanism was under threat-we cant have a Catholic not supporting the war effort and all.....

You're right, he did.

Yes, Gary Potter's book was good but it could have been better. I wish someone else would write about that time and all that was going on.

Really, should any of us be surprised as to how quickly the Church collapsed in the sixties? I'm surprised it lasted that long.
