My favorite devotions are the Rosary and a short prayer of my own to my favorite Saint, Gemma Galgani, the Italian stigmatist who died in 1903.

Oh yes, I know of her. St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows another Passionist, appeared to her.

That is a beautiful practice poche. I have the chaplet but have not prayed it often.

How do you meditate on a dolor when you only have the length of one Hail Mary? The rosary decades give us sufficient time, but the above chaplet only gives little time.

I have to say, this forum has been the most critical, naysaying, negative, full of scruples place I have come across. No matter how much someone tries to bring up something good on here there is always someone to tear it down.

This devotion is not to take away from the rosary. I say the rosary as well. This is a commonly practiced and widespread devotion that is approved and very efficacious.

You misunderstood me Gabriella. I wanted to know how to do it properly because I was thinking of adding this devotion to my other devotions. I didn't want to do it wrong or improperly.

How about a short pause between the Hail Marys for meditation?

The chaplet of the seven sorrows has one Our Father and seven hail marys. If you take your time there will be time for meditation. Don't be in a hurry when you pray.

The chaplet that you speak of Poche is a different devotion than the one outlined in the card. It is confusing as the chaplet makes more sense to me.

The little card is for those who do not have the time to say the whole chaplet.
