For homeschooling children and even adults who have not read history from the Catholic viewpoint, I also recommend Christ the King, Lord of History and Christ and the Americas, both by Dr. Anne Carroll.
You can find them on Amazon and also at www.olvs.org
Funny that you mention them. I've been wanting to read those books, or something like them, for a while. I thought it'd be nice, even for an adult like me, to read a general world history written from a traditional Catholic perspective for a change. It might help to iron out any possible misconceptions that may still be lingering in the back of my mind from all those years of taking high school and university history courses.
The Old World and America by the Most Rev. Philip J. Furlong, Ph.D., looks like a good one too, though perhaps written for a younger audience.
