    • i learned recently that he wrote le Marseillaise and that he was royalist who nearly got his head chopped off. i thought it ironic that a royalist would uniwttingly compose the song that was anthem for anti-royalists.

    at first i though he was catholic but i see he was a mason. so i guess there were masons that were against the french revoltuion. so maybe being royalist not such a good thing necessarly
