  • Are Celtic knots and crosses Catholic? I think they are beautiful but I'm afraid of anything that might be new age.

  • Celtic art existed long before the "New Agers" ever dreamed of being.

Though I do note that the New Agers seemed to have adopted much Celtic art as their own.  It is not.  We should not abandon Celtic art simply because the New Agers display it just as we should not abandon the Cross simply because some hedonistic artists wear them.

  • Another example is here at the grave of Irish patriot Seán Sabhat. This is the republican plot in Mount Jerome Cemetery Limerick.

  • Some of them are over 1000 years old, so they cant be new age. It is ancient Celtic art style used to glorify Christianity, Catholics I mean.

I agree that Celtic art is Christian, ie Catholic,.

A little off topic but just to correct the belief that new age is something new, although there has been a recent resurgence. It goes way back to Ancient Greece, Gnosticism, Jєωιѕн mysticism and the Kabbalah, maybe even to the Garden of Eden (your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil. - Gen 3:5)
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
