Hi everyone, just wanted an honest opinion.

I am tired to fighting with certain people, time to dust off my shoes. During 2015 I want to think positive thoughts.

What I have done is to open an online Catholic Card Shop. The way it works if anyone else is interested in doing so. It is free to open and if you sell the website does all the work, they print, send out the products, all the artists receive is a small commission. You really have to love it, because believe me you won't get rich. The website puts your image on different products, you choose which ones. I mainly want to just create Catholic themed greeting cards. Their quality of a product is top notch.

If anyone has an idea for me, let me know, or correction also I am willing to and would appreciate the critic. There is never any obligation to purchase if you give me a challenge.

I just started last week, and try to put up at least one or two images a day.
Some of my images are watercolors I did, some are photographs I took around Mt. St. Michael and some are computer generated, just to let you know. There is a description of each image, a few are vintage holy cards. This is my little way, I hope, of spreading the Faith to those who might remember or are seeking.

What a nice site. Are there words inside the cards or are they blank?
Catholic themed birthday cards would be nice.

Thank you Marlelar, yes, I plan on doing lots of birthday cards.
This website does not allow words or an inner verse, not sure why. I did ask them about that but so far they have not answered my request. It is a very easy site to work with, which is one nice thing about it.

So, the cards are blank inside, not because I want them that way, but the site wants it that way. However, there is something nice also about being able to write one's own thoughts when sending a greeting card.

A few weeks ago when I received this idea, I was imagining perhaps Catholic images and traditional little prayers, would plant seeds for people who have forgotten. They say pictures say a thousand words.

I did get a little happy when I saw already, these cards showing up on Google.

There are lovely cards! Congratulations Myrna. I hope you do very good. Have you considered opening an Etsy shop with your designs? You would have to do your own printing, though. Perhaps, even extend to scrapbook pages and things?

Cantarella, thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate that. The money is always nice, but this project for me right now is not about the money. When I sell cards on this site I have now, I will get about 20 cents. Lol!
I am trying to offer a service.

I have a name on Etsy, had it for years and have sold there in the past, right now the shop is empty and has been for a time. I am getting older, age 74 and just do not want to be bothered about as you say the printing, sending things out. Years ago on Etsy I sold the original paintings, many of which I am offering prints of here on this current site. I kept files on my paintings, so I am free to upload the images today.

Don't forget to add a blank "spiritual communion" on the left inside. Catholic greeting cards from my youth always had them.

I have some old ones but I don't know how to post them here.

Thanks Miseremini, I do have a Spiritual Bouquet card right now, but I like your idea about Spiritual Communions. On this site we can't do anything on the inside of the card, however I have an idea for later. http://www.redbubble.com/people/catholicards/works/13650589-spiritual-bouquet

Wish I could see yours; if you have a Photobucket acct. you could upload them there and get the code to put here. I know there is another way to post images here too because I see people do it.

One more idea I want to mention. If anyone wants a custom name i.e. HappyBirthday "Matthew", or Happy Anniversary "Dick and Jane", or Welcome New Baby "Mary". I can create that, never any obligation to purchase, I just love the challenge.

I found this very old vintage Holy Card at home, and it makes a perfect anniversary of being a priest anniversary, it has Latin words, when I looked it up, them mean "Like Christ" with traditional symbols. I could also customize that card which I hope to put up sometime today. Customize it with a name like ... To Father ?

I'm making up a Spiritual Bouquet insert for our chapel so it can be used in any greeting card.
The old cards often had a colourful bouquet of flowers around the list.

Funny how you brought that up, just yesterday, I was thinking about the nudity in Christian art, and how it is accepted, yet the same style in modern art, from traditional Catholics is frowned upon. Why is that?
The answer is: I don't know.

Even Jesus hanging on His Cross has very little clothing. You might even say, a naked man is centered and pictured in all our chapels, which is far worse than a naked child. Yet we not only accept this image, we gaze at it in awe of the suffering.

That image I painted was found on a Christmas card I received many years ago, it was a famous image, but I don't remember who the master artist was who painted it centuries ago. It is considered a Catholic image accepted by popes long ago. My version doesn't compare to the works of the master artist, but I enjoy the experience of the lesson I learnt by trying to copy their works. Yes, I could add more clothing to the Child, but I hadn't noticed nor can I notice any immodesty in a baby.

In Christian art, we also see baby angels with barely anything on, but for reasons beyond my understanding it does not strike most of us as immodest.

They all look great !

The Spiritual Communion is nice but you left off the "Stations of the Cross"
It is the most highly indulgenced devotion in the church and one that Our Blessed Mother practiced often with St. John. The N.O. love to eliminate.
They were always on spiritual communions.

As kids we never left the church without doing the stations. All that is required is the Act of Contrition and you MUST WALK the stations thinking about the passion.
They can be made in 2 minutes devoutly.
