This is my favorite photograph. It is of Saint Gemma Galgani who is my favorite saint. When I look at this image it seems like I can see her holiness as if it is tangible and visible in her features. I find it remarkable. I have this image on a prayer card and I look at it often and pray to this saint every day.
She was a stigmatist. The wounds would appear on her body on Thursday evenings and remain there until Friday afternoons and then disappear. Her confessor said about her that he believed she had never committed a single deliberate venial sin in her entire life. She lived in Italy and died in 1903.
