There's something very pleasing to the ear about that low bass/baritone voice, especially in the first song (the Wellerman).
I wish I could sing that low -- alas, I'm a Tenor, or maybe even a bit higher.
My mom always said that male singing voices were superior in every way. Interesting that I learned my pro-male-voice bias from my MOTHER -- who was FEMALE need I point out.
Furthermore, I consider that Vatican II must be destroyed.

Ok, I wasn’t expecting that last line! Hilarious in all its veracity.
Being of Polish descent has ingrained an appreciation of the deep voiced Byzantine/Eastern chants.
It is more of an effort, although a worthy one, to sing Gregorian chant. I have to knock things down an octave or more. Plus I learn first by heavily repeated listening THEN marrying the sound to what is noted on the page.
Sea shanty type music, and stuff like Sixteen Tons and Shenandoah are learned from listening but their being not as complex as chant, makes for easier rendition.
Bass baritone is my natural range.when I get things right.
