  • It would be nice of SSPX, Resistance or Any other independent trad Catholic Church group would buy it.
North Jersey has enough chapels.  South Jersey could use one.

  • The above property is close to 295 and NJ turnpike.
It was called St Gregory's in Somerdale, New Jersey.
It has good size Church, rectory and school.  Close to everything Including airport.

Then Sell off the property in Eddystone.

May God bless you and keep you

  • How common is it to see a Catholic church for sale in your area?

It's not common here. There are plenty of Catholics, it seems, to keep the N.O. churches operating.

I did know of one for sale ... probably a decade ago ... but it was ugly. The building actually looks much better now that the city bought it and remodeled a bit.

  • This church appears to be in Camden NJ.  Camden has the highest poverty rate as well as the highest crime rate in NJ.  Although it is relatively close to St. Jude's in Eddystone, it is far more dangerous.  I would think twice before making such a purchase.

  • Somerdale NJ is a small suburban town and is not Camden NJ.   Between Camden and Somerdale are miles of wealthy suburbanites, specifically Cherry Hill.   Somerdale is far enough away to not be a problem.

. It is no where near Camden.

No, this Catholic Church is in Somerdale, NJ. Not Camden City.  It is near Haddonfield, Lawnside Haddonfield, Tavistock and Voorhees.

The Camden diocese covers most of South Jersey including Jersey Shore.

A lot of Churches, schools, nursing homes are being sold off.  New Jersey is full of liberals.

It's not common here. There are plenty of Catholics, it seems, to keep the N.O. churches operating.  That is a blessing.   Texas is more conservative.

Here they target beautiful historic Church property to be sold off.   They keep open new uglier Churches.

  • Bishop Gallante came from Dallas Texas and was promoted to New Jersey.
He grew up in Philadelphia. He became famous for closing the most Churches down.

We were part of the group to protest the Church closings.
It was terrible how our Pastor was persecuted because he was the only one who stood up for  his parish.  I recently learned that Father helped close down 2 porn shops.  He was forced into retirement.  He offers the Latin Mass at his house.

Same here, but the one time the archdiocese here decided to sell church buildings, they turned the one best suited for traditional groups into a mosque.
