  • Mine is Jesus of Nazareth. I think most of the Biblical figures were greatly portrayed by the actors. Jesus Christ, Blessed Mary, Joseph, John the Baptist, Peter, Nicodemus, John, Mary Magdalene, Judas, etc.

What's your favorite Jesus Christ movie? Please post here.

    Here is Jesus of Nazareth:

  • Jesus of Nazareth is one of my favorites as well. Music is beautiful in it. The only problematic scene is the birth of Christ, which depicts Our Lady in great pain at childbirth, whereas she had none in reality, due to Her privileges connected to the Immaculate Conception.

Yes. Jesus of Nazareth, to me, is almost the perfect adaptation of the Gospels. The birth scene is really the only problematic one, otherwise, there's really not much else that I can fault in it. I thought Powell's portrayal of Our Lord was very reverent and mystical, even though it was coming from a non-believer. And Olivia Hussey was excellent as Our Lady.

One of my favorite scenes is the sermon on the mount, it gives me chills.

As well as the raising of Lazarus

For obvious reasons, the Passion is a close second. The meeting of Our Lord and Lady on the way of the cross brings tears to my eyes
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]
