One sees a lot of Catholics who like Chesterton but they typically lack an interest in the writings of saints.

Now that is funny. And, the person who started this thread reads the writings of the Saints ALL THE TIME, EVERY DAY. I do as well, but I do not devote my entire day to reading and praying as duty calls and I must take care of my large family.
Yes, BTW I do know this for a fact

I'll take it a step further, Dulcamara.  If one refuses to have anything to do with non Catholics, who do they go to for health care, groceries, car repair, etc, etc.  God must have gifted these people for them to be able to do the things they do.

Chesterton was gifted.  He would get so deeply into his thoughts that he would get lost.  One day he telegraphed his wife from down town to ask her where he was going.

Do you think I was talking about Eamon?

I read Orthodoxy, I found many problems with Chesterton's writings.

That's probably because Catholics these days typically lack interest in those deeper things they need and ought to have a taste for. That they like Chesterton or not is purely incidental, I'm sure.

I love St. Thomas Aquinas's writings. I wish my copies of them weren't packed away in a box right now, so I could read them.
