Geremia,
I do not understand the premise that scientific findings can hold any priority in the belief in geocentrism. I am grateful to Mr. Sungenis for bringing the subject of geocentrism into the limelight but at the same time, the whole of chapter 14 in my 2008 vol. 2 of Galileo was Wrong... has me scratching my head. He quotes segments from Gaudium et Spes and Lumen Gentium as hope in understanding the truth.
I think he believes the modern Church is on its way to accepting the decrees of 1633 because of modern scientific findings, but back in 1633 the order of believing was based on the unanimous teachings of the Fathers on Holy Scripture and Tradition, not on adjusting one's theology to scientific findings.
The order of thought in chapter 14 seems confusing to me. Do you understand it?
Thanks for bringing up this topic, Memento.
Trying to verify the doctrines of Holy Mother Church by presuming that
scientific findings are the foundation of truth is a bit twisted. But then
again, presuming that anything out of Vat.II is unquestionable is likewise
twisted. Perhaps Sungenis has had enough time now 'scratching his head'
so that he'll find that THROWING VAT.II OUT wholesale can only HELP his
research. Wouldn't that be great? But like Fr. Gruner right now, to do so
would be tantamount to destroying your financial prospects. So, for the
time being, until this movie is still pushing up the numbers on the DRAW
charts, we're going to have to remain patient. And yes, I would pay to
see the movie. I'd no doubt like to have a DVD when they're made
available. High def? Blu Ray??
I never saw the trailer.
This makes me wonder, if Sungenis had to pull the trailer because of some
kind of threat from the enemies of God? He
may have put out a
password-protected version so that he could test out the process of advance
dissemination or advertising, only to find that the sinister forces arrayed
to keep him and his project out of the public eye have been able to even
forestall distribution of the trailer under controlled conditions like this -!?
