This film appears to be of historic importance.  It was produced at exactly the right time and with every asset in its favour being providentially established without any apparent control or influence on the part of the movie producers and editors.  In recent months, the data from the Planck satellite about cosmic microwave background has blown apart mainstream cosmology.  This film's timing and content could not be more opportune.  I don't know if it will be playing close enough to me for me to see it, but I would love it if it were.  I would definitely pay to see The Principle.

  • Some questions:

    1.  Why is this movie trailer password protected?  One cannot advertise something very well if one does not allow people to see it.

    2.  When did Robert Sungenis become a Catholic theologian as described in the trailer?  Or is it that he is a theologian who happens to be Catholic?

    3.  I doubt very much that this film will find a release in theaters, though I could be wrong.  Is this going to be available for purchase at some time?  Like PereJoseph, I would pay to see this film also.

I haven't visited his website for quite a while.  I just did and it seems to simply be a store front now.

  • Sungenis argues in the 3rd volume of Galileo Was Wrong (esp. the introduction) that correcting the Church's alleged mishandling of the "Galileo affair" was the #1 reason Vatican II was called. Look at pp. 522 ff. ("The Signs of Apostasy"), which quotes from Wolfgang Smith's The Wisdom of Ancient Cosmology: Contemporary Science in Light of Tradition (pp. 180-1).

On p. 4, Sungenis quotes Card. Brandmüller (who has ordained FSSP priests) defending the Church contra Galileo:
    Quote
Furthermore, the most recent scientific findings vindicate the Church of 1633.
    (source)

Deo gratias, it seems Sungenis is getting more trad. I read parts of the 2010 edition of his Galileo Was Wrong, and he didn't argue back then as much about Vatican II with respect to Galileo.

  • Geremia,
I do not understand the premise that scientific findings can hold any priority in the belief in geocentrism.  I am grateful to Mr. Sungenis for bringing the subject of geocentrism into the limelight but at the same time, the whole of chapter 14 in my 2008 vol. 2 of Galileo was Wrong... has me scratching my head. He quotes segments from Gaudium et Spes and Lumen Gentium as hope in understanding the truth.
I think he believes the modern Church is on its way to accepting the decrees of 1633 because of modern scientific findings, but back in 1633 the order of believing was based on the unanimous teachings of the Fathers on Holy Scripture and Tradition, not on adjusting one's theology to scientific findings.
The order of thought in chapter 14 seems confusing to me. Do you understand it?

Thanks for bringing up this topic, Memento.

Trying to verify the doctrines of Holy Mother Church by presuming that
scientific findings are the foundation of truth is a bit twisted.  But then
again, presuming that anything out of Vat.II is unquestionable is likewise
twisted.  Perhaps Sungenis has had enough time now 'scratching his head'
so that he'll find that THROWING VAT.II OUT wholesale can only HELP his
research.  Wouldn't that be great?  But like Fr. Gruner right now, to do so
would be tantamount to destroying your financial prospects.  So, for the
time being, until this movie is still pushing up the numbers on the DRAW
charts, we're going to have to remain patient.  And yes, I would pay to
see the movie.  I'd no doubt like to have a DVD when they're made
    available.  High def?  Blu Ray??

    I never saw the trailer.

This makes me wonder, if Sungenis had to pull the trailer because of some
kind of threat from the enemies of God?  He may have put out a
password-protected version so that he could test out the process of advance
dissemination or advertising, only to find that the sinister forces arrayed
to keep him and his project out of the public eye have been able to even
forestall distribution of the trailer under controlled conditions like this -!?

  • In all frankness, Neil Obstat, I am the one scratching my head while reading Mr. Sungenis' book.  There is so much good information in it, and if one can separate certain of the references to the Modernists, it is a very useful book.

This is only my opinion but I think Mr. Sungenis is hoping that scientific evidence, which is the "New Religion" convinces the Modernists.  His trailer shows several prominent physicists explaining the new cosmological discoveries and why they give them reason to consider discarding their once golden theories of an acentric or heliocentric universe.

It's too bad that Truth isn't enough for modernists and that it is necessary to fight with the only thing they know: scientific evidence.

Thanks for your input. You may be right about Mr. Sungenis not jumping the Novus Ordo sinking ship until he's brought along a few wannabe survivors.

  • Here's Robert Sungenis explaining himself in the first of 3 parts of a talk called, "The Coming Scientific Revolution."

    http://en.gloria.tv/?album=3819

    Here's part two, with Delano.

    http://en.gloria.tv/?media=288899

the third part is around somewhere, it's the longest part with sungenis explaining everthing.  For some reason it is "gone" today, but it was there last night!   :laugh1:
