I just started reading this book and let me tell you, this book is the hardest book of Joseph de Maistre I have read since it uses a lot of discussion of Bacon's works (which I have never read) and pulls them apart. I have Maistre's The Pope, Study on Sovereignty, and Considerations on France and while those were pretty easy to understand this book makes you read a passage and think to try to understand the point of what he is saying. Anyway it is of course Maistre breaking apart and criticizing Bacon's philosophy since he sees him as the one who put the wood in the fire to start the Enlightenment so to speak.
Does anyone else have this book or the other books I mentioned?
