I would tell your friends/relatives that if they are sick or suffering, perhaps God is asking them to trust more in Him, to check their life... is it pleasing to God? Can they be more accepting of God's will if he chooses not to afford them a cure? Are they cognizant that the soul is more important than the body, and that sickness may be a means to sanctification? i.e. a gift from God and not a curse. Therefore, if they are going to a spiritual roundtable or healer seeking an immediate miracle, they have their faith in men and their mind in the flesh, whereas they need to elevate their mind to God and overcome the flesh. They can pray for a cure, but the prayer should always end with "if it be Thy Will, for Thy greater glory, and for the sanctification of my Soul, otherwise take the desire away from me." Hard pill to swallow, yes, but do you want to become saints, or do you want health and pleasures in this life for a few short years following by an eternity of separation from God?

Thank you, this is so good. I was just learning about St. Gerard Majella and his complete surrender to God's will; I think your comment ties in perfectly with what I am leaning about this saint. He saw everything that came to him as God's will, suffering and all and accepted it with meekness and humility.

I visited my niece and her husband in Texas about 15 years ago.  Her husbands dad's home.  The dad thought he knew me, and invited a man, he knew to the house.

This man is sitting with us  at the kitchen table.  He says to me, I have heard about you. (hm, I don't know him i thought to myself)  He starts talking about a person who heals and etc. ( I thought, dear Holy Ghost, this man is trying me), so I just let him talk.  When he was finished is asked, "Hm, where do you think this person is getting power from?"  Oh, says the man, the Holy Ghost of course!  Wow, I thought to the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost reminded me of what demons hate the most with words.  So, I replied, "What about the Powers of the Precious Blood of Christ?"

This man, stood up and roared! at me and said roaring., "What of it!!"

Everyone at the table were silent and shocked.  I said to this man, "I did not come for this." I left the kitchen.

My niece came to me and said, "Aunt, you said nothing to make him so angry".  I told her, I think I know what happened and I will explain later to you.  At 10 pm bedtime I told my niece and her husband what took place in my thoughts and asking the Holy Ghost for assistance.  I do believe this man harbors a demon and he heard "Precious Blood of Christ".

If you are excited about powers and those who know(mediums and such)  sure you will see powers of Satan.  Powers of God, So and Holy Ghost have powers with your sanctifying grace.  Which would you rather have, Satan or Gods powers to assist you?

Wow, what a powerful story, I appreciate you sharing this! I commend you for your calmness and reliance on God through it all.

The Holy Ghost can be very helpful, and quick.  I have had about 3 experiences where demons show themselves in people.  This last one was a man, I have known for 25 years.  He needs prayers.  He left his family of many children and wife.  I don't know and don't need to, but I saw him in the church's parking lot. I stopped my car and put the window down.  He didn't much to say, and we were on the subject of being forgetful.  I said, well that's for me to do, after all I am 20 years older than you.  He made a reply and I said, well, ask the Holy Ghost and the next thing I knew, I had a swarm of flies at my face and I just kept swatting and I couldn't take it anymore and put my window up saying goodbye, see my husband inside the church.

I understand flies can appear with priest who come to exorcise.  It was so strange.  Another time, a man looked at me with disgust, and I just left my pew for another.

But remember to say things that are used in exorcism "Jesus Christ, Mary, but demons hate the "Precious Blood" very much.
