  • Married woman's asks the Little Office Helper to do her a big favor - wink, wink - and she is to arrive at the married woman's house on Saturday morning.

Once the Little Office Helper arrives, the married woman asks her husband if it’s okay if she goes downtown to see a movie with the little office helper.  The Little Office Helper is a young woman just out of high school.  They travel together downtown where they meet a male co-worker.  Then the Little Office Helper goes to a movie.  The married woman commits adultery with the male co-worker. Then the married woman meets with the Little Office Helper and they travel together in public.  The Little Office Helper is fully aware of her role as decoy but views it all as very funny and the only person really being hurt is the husband at home because her co-worker and the male co-worker are in love.

Does the Little Office Helper share in the guilt of the cheating married woman?

What is your opinion of the Little Office Helper?

Yuck!  Of course she's guilty!  I worked at a McDonalds in the 1970s where the "kids" were required to give the "excuse of the day" posted beside the phone, should the manager's wife call while he was "out" with his mistress.  I avoided answering the phone, but once, had the misfortune to have to speak with Mrs. Manager.  I didn't lie.  I just said, "He doesn't appear to be on the premises."  He threatened to fire me, but I quit a week later over another outrageous incident.  It is one of the few McDonalds I've known to close due to gross mismanagement.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Sick! Yes, she shouldn't aid and abet mortal sins! How can she rationalize such a thing? Wrong.

  • Tell a man his gf/fiance/wife is cheating and deceitful, see how far you get. Not only will he not believe you,  but he may jump at the chance do the cheating wife's dirty work in attacking you. People's minds can do funny things.

That said of course agreeing to be the decoy is wrong.

  • If someone (ie the married woman's husband) were to ask little office helper, "What happened?" "Is there anything that I should know about?" what would the Little office helper's answer be? Is this little trip something that is being treated as one of her "office duties?" Does this mean she is getting overtime? I see a set up for blackmail.

Why are you posting such disgusting things?

Are you trying to provoke the men on here to concupiscence?

What possible holy benefit could there be in reading such smut?

    AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Catholics, please don't participate in this and keep it going.  The post is very odd and dysfunctional.   The question of guilt could have been asked in a much less salacious manner, without all the smutty insinuations.  It is intended to be provocative.

    Matthew, please remove?

  • I removed anything that could be considered "salacious".

I took a few sentences out and made it more dry, boring, and matter-of-fact.

  • I used to go to an indult and at the Christmas Vigil I saw a man and woman sitting together but without their families.   I had seen these two before after Mass with their families socializing; the the woman would usually talk to the man's wife.  The woman never came to Mass with a man just her children and she wore no ring on her left hand so assumed her to be unmarried.  They sat right in front of us so I was able to notice their legs  and upper bodies touching.  At one point he put hand on her leg so I knew something was amiss.

I continued to see them after Sunday Mass standing in a group but they were never alone or seen speaking directly to each other.  She would only talk to the wife.

Fast forward to Easter.  I went to confession on Good Friday on the other side of town.  Guess who I saw there together--you guessed it.  They were there for confession without their families.  The left together so they clearly came together.  I often wondered if I should say something to the wife but I didn't know them so I never did.

Of course I don't know for certain anything was going on but these two certainly were not related.

How well do you know these people? Is it possible that they could be brother and sister or cousins?

People who attend the Traditional Latin Mass, even in the indult, are too fine a group of people to engage in adultery, so it can't be that.

As for being brothers and sisters, I don't think I'd put my hand on my sister's leg.  No, it can't be that.

    So, what is it then?

Simple.  You made up the story!

  • Nowhere in this scenario is Little Office Worker asked to tell hubby about the cheating.  Neither is she required to, in my opinion.

If LOW is innocent about what favor the wife wants, then she is faultless AT THE BEGINNING.  Once she realizes just what this favor is, then she must decline the next time it happens or else it is a sin for her.

The Little Office Worker finds the whole episode amusing and even defends herself belligerantly by saying that only the husband at home is "going to be hurt".  When pressed on the morality of the issue, the Little Office Worker explains it away as saying that the adulterous wife "needs love".

No, the Little Office Worker is not innocent.  She knows exactly what is going on.
