  • Would it be a sin to take a non-Catholic to mass in hopes they might receive grace to convert? Or would it perhaps be a sin to take them to the Holy Mystery as they would not know or show properly respect and reverence to Christ in the Holy Eucharist?

  • It’s not a sin to bring a non Catholic to Mass.  what a great way to evangelize.

  • If we gatekept everything, there wouldn't be converts in the first place

Perhaps it would be a sin if you saw that they did not understand and you didn't bother to teach them.

  • On the contrary! Assuming that you gave them a little primer on decent dress and decorum, it would be a great act of charity.

  • Yes!  DO take a guest to Mass.  Many souls have converted as a result of attending Mass.  Just be sure to tell him to refrain from Communion.

  • I can see not taking a non-Catholic to Mass if they're going to have a bad attitude, acting out, rolling their eyes, drawing long breaths, and so on.  In that case, it seems like "casting pearls before swine", and I would have to question having a person like this in your acquaintanceship, and spending time with them, to begin with.  But I want to think that relatively few people would be crass enough to act that way.

  • We took my mother to Mass many times but she died in the occult. Remain hopeful but don't pdespair if they don't convert.

I assume this is NOT a romantic prospect?
