Agree. Horrible advice. Canon law doesn’t allow separation except for extreme cases and with a priest's guidance.
What's the point of asking for advice anymore now? Leaving is prob the only available advice left. Wife refused meeting with a priest, refused seeing doctor, refused stopping her behaviour, nothing about her family or friends involvement seems to be an option, and husband refused to get out of it so that both of them can reflect? What else do you want any of us to say?
And somehow OP think it's better to ask men instead of women for opinions now, where all they say is "you need to man up and teach her xyz".
And how is it kicking the husband out when it was the husband taking charge and leaving her was suggested.
I dont know how the Church will oppose to temporary separation when it can be like a retreat where they can both calm down, reflect, pray and repent. It seems to me that's what they need. Also imo a chaotic household with nonstop quarrels is worse than single parents for the children.
