OP, you're right.  There's "no need 2 name him."  Please examine your conscience for whatever sin resulted in this thread.  Has a priest sinned against you or a loved one?  Do you feel lifted up by putting others down?  Maybe you, yourself are a priest having sinned away God's Grace?  Avoid the bad death of Fr. Iscariot. Get to Confession---even a wicked priest's absolution cleanses from sin.  Save your soul!

I would like to know laity's rights and duties regarding bad priestly behavior? I know of a priest who makes rude remarks to the deacon in English at Spanish mass. I am bilingual and heard him clearly. The deacon is cowered in fear of this haughty priest. The older folks miss the previous priest.

I have been told to write the bishop. I did once, no response. Some people do not like a traditional minded priest and comment to the bishop and the priest ends up being transferred to a far off parish. Others insult laity with impunity. I do not get it.

You need to leave the Novus Ordo my friend. Join the rest of us in the world of tradition.

Brendan Smyth O.Praem is the obvious one for anyone in Ireland. Among post Conciliar Irish priests Tony Walsh who drove around Ballyfermot raping boys. He was known the 'singing priest' and an 'Elvis impersonator' but was dropped from the 'All Priests Show' after Fr Michael Cleary RIP came to hear of the abuse, but per usual, didn't report. He starting raping children as a seminarian, and was only convicted in 2010 with 123 years worth of sentences but will only serve 16 as that's the max for that crime. Worryingly I know of a former Novus Ordo seminarian now ambulance man who's his best friend and visits him frequently in prison.

Just remember that God in his mercy chose his priests from ordinary people. That way when you go to confession you have someone who understands the human condition and is more apt to be a dispenser of His mercy.

I knew of one Novus Ordo priest who I thought was evil. And he was extremely liberal. He was a teacher in a Novus Ordo college and wrote articles for the local Novus Ordo newspaper so he spread his liberalism around. In one of his sermons that I remember he made fun of those who respected the Blessed Sacrament in the old days when he was young (before Vatican II) and those who took care of it when it fell on the floor or was desecrated in any way. He say we should not worry about Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament when he is desecrated because "he can take it". He died a few years ago.

God can take it but i dont think He would if we deliberately or carelessly disrespected Him.. Intent is everything here

i agree except that i heard that some Marian apparition (dont know if approved or not) told someone that more people go to Purgatory these days (not sure what that means.. As opposed to the 1800s? the 1700s? )

anyway, yeh, protestantism destroys souls. It is very hard to be Christ-centered in this world and i dont see how anyone can do that without HIS Church
