  • Mine.  I took Mrs Weirdo out to dinner last night and had hummus and lamb.  It remains with me today.  Not even a megadose of Listerine is knocking that delicious affliction away...

Haha! This struck my funny bone.

Lucky for your wife that's not your real name!

Reminds me of a conversation I had with my family last night when we were discussing the late Fatty Arbuckle.

Who names their kid that, anyway?

You walk up to someone, introduce yourself saying, "Hello, I'm fatty."

Or you raise your hand to be called on and the teacher or speaker says "yes, Fatty?"

Embarrassing! I would have changed my name upon turning 18.

Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

I named my child your higness, anything wrong with that?
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." Saint Thomas Aquinas the greatest Doctor of the Church

    What's a higness?  What's a hig?  :confused1:

Oh, you meant highness.  Well, yes to be honest there is something wrong with that.  I know your type and I know you didn't really give that name to your spawn.  But if you are the NO Cath who did, it would imply a) a grandiose and undeserved sense of entitlement towards a mere child, or b) imply that your child is prone to or enamored by intoxication.

I would not wait for that Parent of The Year certificate any time soon.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Anyone who would call a child "spawn" has the foulest breath.

    You're lost.

Foul breath can be easily treated.  Stupidity cannot.

    You got a foul attitude.

I'm going to go and start a thread entitled "Which CI member has the foulest attitude?"

  • I live in New York. I remember, in the last months of 2001, seeing an abundance of rats in parts of Manhattan where one ordinarily did not see rats. I soon learned that these vermin had fled the World Trade Center site en masse after September 11th and were now pestering people who were not accustomed to having to deal with them (or at least so many of them).

And now, in the wake of the exodus from FE, I'm noticing more and more threads like this one on CI...

So yeah, it's causing a bit of deja vu for me...
