What to talk about with Catholic young women?
« on: Today at 02:40:24 AM »
Have mercy on me, an introvert. When there are only very few young women that attend to the Masses I go to, I often struggled with coming up with any topic to talk about with them. Basically it usually starts with a greeting and then some small talk "how's school/work" and that ends there. I find it way easier and natural to talk with other men because they often were already in some sort of political rant, and also old ladies because they genuinely care about you and ask quite a few questions. Can someone advise what are some topics/questions that I may bring up to befriend some catholic girls when you don't know much about them already, and perhaps separate them by age group?

Very few young men are comfortable talking with young ladies, so there is nothing particularly different about you. If you have younger sisters, you will know that playful banter is what works. You cannot really discuss politics/religion with women because they are unable to disagree without getting upset. It's therefore difficult to have a productive conversation with them on these abstract topics.

Have you thought of joining the polyphonic choir? You will be amazed how Palestrina unites people.

One major difference between men and women is that the women are great when they preserve what they have, whilst men are great when they build value, experience, wealth, health and confidence. So these young ladies are more or less ideal whilst you will have to wait until you are in your late 20s until you are ideal. If you are young, unless you are very handsome, you are probably invisible to them.

Try talking to their fathers. And if their fathers are not at Mass, that's already a red flag to begin with.

Without that grounding, a young women is on the road to instability. Usually.
