1) Croix has turned the forum into a total joke. He gets "banned", comes back, the Moderator knows he's back but just laughs it off and then lets him run amok again, and his behavior is puerile and idiotic, lowering the level of discourse here by many notches. He also could very well be a fed, having boasted of access to various non-public sources of intelligence, and making such over-the-top comments as to be nothing short absurd caricatures of the worst kind of racism ... that only someone trying "too hard" could even cook up, i.e. attempting to act as an agent provocateur could ever make such comments (short of his having serious psychological problems).
I find it embarrassing to participate in this stupidity.
There’s no reason we cannot discuss Fr. Hewko unless someone cannot refrain from insulting, slandering him, or the opposite, presenting him as one of the only two real priests left on the face of the earth! There’s no need for a sub-forum.
It is the paragraph concerning Croix and Croix-like behavior that should stop. If Matthew has his email and knows his true identity, he should contact him IRL, maybe on the phone, like, the old-school way. Speak to him and let him know his antics aren’t amusing. If a face to face conversation can be had, that’s even better.
I completely agree. Whatever Croix’s intent may be, the result is undeniable. The atmosphere shifts the moment he enters. Threads collapse into nonsense. Serious conversation is buried. The tone becomes juvenile, chaotic, and frankly beneath anyone trying to hold a Catholic line.
Whether he is a provocateur or simply unstable, the effect is the same. It drains the forum of credibility. And for those trying to engage in good faith, it makes participation feel more like damage control than discussion.
It is not just embarrassing. It is corrosive.
