I don't care for child care act or paid maternity leave. Why should an employer pay for not working? A woman should stay home and raise children instead of nannies or daycare.
Most women have left the workforce to raise their children. One salary should support a household.
i tend to agree
believe it or not, I know people who live WELL on $1100 a month
I never could u/stand why employers have to pay for, as u say, someone not working OR health insurance. I mean, yeh, maybe they should (could) contribute a certain %age so as to keep good employees but... well, whatever
That said, though... Doesn't it disturb you that CEOs get paid millions a year, get HUGE retirement pay (Tillerson gets soemthing like 170 million retirement!!!!!!!)
and yet some companies dont want to pay more than $7 an hour? I mean, i am a capitalist, but something is wrong w/ this picture..
But what is more wrong is this: Republicans complain about things like General Assistance checks to the homeless. I hear it is about $300 in some cities. But then.. well, again... CEOs and what thye are paid. I mean... someone is going to complain about the govt giving the homeless a measly $300 check but .... Look at all the WASTE and fraud in govt... The taxpayers, i am sure, would rather help homeless people than... say, tear down a perfectly good govt building just to build something more fancy.. and then there are other even worse things the govt wastes money on..
I heard someone on the news complaining about homeless people urinating on the sidewalks. Well, you know what? I used to be around a lot of homeless people. Guess how many i have known who did that?
ZERO
I know it happens. But to act like ALL homeless are sub-human beasts who deserve to suffer as they do... that is beyond the pale
The homeless are treated like dirt. They are people too. IF they are not committing crimes, why are the wealthy scapegoating them? The poor are just as loved by God as the wealthy.. possibly more. I recall hearing how Jesus told someone once "Suffering endears men to Me"[/b]
