Of course, once you get stricter than knee-length, it's time to buy a sewing machine. Not every woman is that generous (to souls, Our Lord, etc.)

The sewing machines need to become part of our lifestyle. I'm not saying every woman has to sew her own dresses. They should be a normal part of most households though. Teenage girls  and women with children older than six  can do sewing for others.

  • We need to be more merciful to our priests. They are human. Maybe WE are not praying enough for them...

There are people I know who rag a lot on these poor priests. "His sermon is too long/boring",  "He doesn't give me good advice in the confessional", "He's inexperienced", on and on...

These men have given their lives to bring souls (ie: US) to God. Can we not have a little more compassion on them?

One of the greatest priests and my favorite was the Holy Cure of Ars. Why can't more priests be like him?

This is ridiculous.  First Guest points to the only parish priest to be canonized and then complains that more priests can't be like him.

Why can't more women be like Saint Philomena?

Why can't more husbands be like Saint Thomas More?

Why can't more bishops be like Saint Polycarp?

Why can't popes be more like Saint Pius V?

Why can't everyone be just like the greatest Catholic Saints in history?

The answer is few are able to be as great as these great Catholic Saints.  Even Guest, here, is afraid to ask such a stupid question openly.  Why?  Is he afraid?  Why can't Guest be more like any of the saints listed above who never condemned others anonymously?

  •  And here it ought to be pointed out why so few reach this high state of perfect union with God. It should be known that the reason is not that God wishes only a few of these spirits to be so elevated; He would rather want all to be perfect, but He finds few vessels that will endure so lofty and sublime a work. . . . There are many who desire to advance and persistently beseech God to bring them to this state of perfection. Yet when God wills to conduct them through the initial trials and mortifications, as is necessary, they are unwilling to suffer them and they shun them, flee from the narrow road of life [Mt. 7:14] and seek the broad road of their own consolation, which is that of their own perdition [Mt. 7:13]; thus they do not allow God to begin to grant their petition. They are like useless containers, for although they desire to reach the state of the perfect they do not want to be guided by the path of trials that leads to it.”

  • It's tough out there for a priest!
