  • I am to the point I hate watching the news

you hear about people committing crimes all the time.. Lois Lerner, Eric Holder, Hillary C

and nothing is ever done about it.

But if some "peasant" endangered national security like Hillary did, he would be lucky to get a spot UNDER the jail..

Snowden is essentially a nobody and some want to give him the death penalty.. Well, he is a traitor so that makes sense. But what does not make sense is that hillary did worse and yet... well, you know how it goes, Everyone.. she has $$.  We look the other way when people have money

a steady diet of this kind of thing can make you hate watching the news..

i mean the news people.. they act all horrified that this or that crime is committed by this or that prestigious/wealthy person and the story just seems to go on forever.. until they reach a certain point.. other stories take the place of those "old" ones.. and everyone just "forgets"

well, as someone who appreciates the principles this country was founded on, esp the thing about how we are all supposed to equal under the law.. i resent this

  • The principles this country was founded were masonic and enlightenment ideals.

So stop watching the news.  Quit complaining and go read the lives of the saints or something.

  • Where on earth did you get the idea that the American Constitutuion etc. is Catholic? Can you give any evidence at all for this?

Psalm 48 [17-21] Be not thou afraid, when a man shall be made rich, and when the glory of his house shall be increased.  For when he shall die he shall take nothing away; nor shall his glory descend with him.  For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise thee when thou shalt do well to him.  He shall go in to the generations of his fathers: and he shall never see light. Man when he was in honour did not understand: he hath been compared to senseless beasts, and made like to them.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

Actually, i was more focused on the Declaration than the Constitution but the Constitution, if not verbatim from the RCC is certainly not in contradistinction therewith
and anyone who u/stands theology and philosophy and the Catholic religion knows that

  • Do what I did and give up political news for the rest of Lent.

It does wonders for your interior life.

  • I am not giving up being informed

but you have to take the news w/ the proverbial grain of salt. Salt is a preservative. I preserve my mind with the salt of Jesus and His Word (plus a little common sense thrown in, hopefully)

i can't believe how long the news people went on and on and on almost literally ad nauseum about theRussian collusion possibility (w/ Trump and Co) when there was no story therE!

if there is no story, why are always talking about it? There's no story but we have to get 100 different experts' opinions on why it is so terrible that there is no story there??? PLEASE

now i know from whence comes the old saying "bored to death"

I don't want to be ignorant of what's going on in the world. However, I do what you say here--on Sunday, the day of rest. Well, i try to. I still watch the news, but try not to watch it as much.
