  • I just reported two Israeli-looking men in a newish, dark blue Infiniti car after they parked across a school district building and took pictures of the building. The building's parking lot is empty because the venue is closed but the men parked in a different lot across the street and down a little way. One man got out of the car and walked up a grassy area be positioned in front of the building. He remained across the street and took pictures. The incident lasted only a few minutes. I was standing about a block away and they didn't see me see them. As soon as the man got back in his car and it started to drive off, I walked loser to the road hoping they'd come my way. They did and that's when I got their license plate number and make of car. The men were in their 20's to early 30's, clean cut and they looked Israeli. They finally saw me see them and look at their plates. The driver immediately turned into a bank parking lot and stopped at the entrance. It appeared he look out his wind to look at me and it appeared that he took a picture of me, too. Then he drove off. I didn't report the last part about him taking a picture of me because I don't think it's relevant. It's suspicious that they're taking taking pictures of a government building, especially a school building when it's closed, and they seemed to not want their car to be on camera in the school's lot.

Was I reasonable or unreasonable to report them?

  • Who did you report to?
    How does one “look Israeli”?

The local police. Of course, I called the non-emergency number.

The dispatcher asked me if the suspects were black, hispanic or white, and I told her they looked Israeli because they did.

It's hard to know who to report anything to- If they were Israelis like you think, they have free rein to to do anything in the US. You would be targeted before they would. (Not saying you will be targeted mind you, just that reporting it to "authorities' doesn't mean much

Hmmm.... I am still wondering what look distinguishes an Israeli from your run-of-the-mill Joe? Just curious...

    I study Israelis.

In college, I had a lot of experience with international students. I'm able to determine, just by looking at their appearance, possessions and mannerisms, who are foreign nationals from a particular country/region, and who are Americans of that same race/ethnicity.

Israel has the U.S. saturated with their spies and assessors of soft and hard targets.

    Thank you. A satisfactory answer.

  • Unreasonable. They may be part of a property firm seeking to buy the building. School districts offload closed venues all of the time. It cost them a seven-figure sum to build, and when districts no longer have the need, they sell them. Happens a lot.

  • Not unreasonable.  Recall the Israeli “art students” and “movers” at 9/11.  Who knows if some fαℓѕє fℓαg operation isn’t in the works?  Except if it’s really Israelis, they’ll get cover from our government agencies.  You wrote this fact off as not suspicious but to me it’s the MOST suspicious ... that they took a picture of you.  They were obviously concerned about being watched.

If they were doing nothing wrong, no harm done.  I would consider anyone staking out a school suspicious ... whether they’re planning to abduct children or perpetrate some fαℓѕє fℓαg attack. Israelis are known to be involved with cнιℓd тrαffιcking (cf. Les Wexner, Epstein, Maxwell, etc.) as well as fαℓѕє fℓαg terror (cf. 9/11 and USS Liberty), being the “by way of deception” crowd.  If they have some legitimate non-criminal reason for their activity, then it could quickly be cleared up.  Otherwise, it’s possible that you helped to deter some criminal act.  Of course they’ll just find another target.

And, yes, it’s very possible to spot Israelis based on various physical characteristics.

They MAY be ....  In that case, it’ll be cleared up quickly.  There was nothing unreasonable about reporting this other than the fact that no action will be taken.

If more people called out the elephant in the room, the world would be a better place. Everyone ignores it, however, hoping to not be called "anti-Semitic".
