Why not pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Because that's not how Catholics do discernment!

This is from the 2005 instruction on gαy men and the priesthood:

Quote
Deep-seated ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies, which are found in a number of men and women, are also objectively disordered and, for those same people, often constitute a trial. Such persons must be accepted with respect and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. They are called to fulfil God's will in their lives and to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter[8].

In the light of such teaching, this Dicastery, in accord with the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, believes it necessary to state clearly that the Church, while profoundly respecting the persons in question[9], cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practise ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, present deep-seated ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies or support the so-called "gαy culture"[10].

Such persons, in fact, find themselves in a situation that gravely hinders them from relating correctly to men and women. One must in no way overlook the negative consequences that can derive from the ordination of persons with deep-seated ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies.

Different, however, would be the case in which one were dealing with ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies that were only the expression of a transitory problem - for example, that of an adolescence not yet superseded. Nevertheless, such tendencies must be clearly overcome at least three years before ordination to the diaconate.

This is an excellent place to start.  A person with deep-seated ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies is not to be admitted to seminary or Holy Orders.

Want to know what 'deep seated' means?  The person must clearly overcome these temptations and be free of them for at least three years in order to know that they are not 'deep seated'.

See, discernment is not as hard as Poche is making it sound.  It's not going out in the woods and gazing deeply into one's navel to wait for an inner locution.  It's simply asking 'what does the Church say?'.

If you have ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ tendencies, no seminary, convent or marriage. Just prayer and fasting.
It is because of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity and sɛҳuąƖ abuse that the Church is in trouble.
In regards to to NYC st Patricks day parade and cardinal Dolan, this is what happens when ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity is allowed in seminaries. Cardinal Dolan condoned the act of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity when an athlete came out to say he was active practicing ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ and Dolan went out of his way to speak to media and made a point publically to say "good for him.  ".  Now he is making excuses to include active ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs in parade. Dolan and others like him only represent the LGbtq group.  They don't care about anyone else because they are in state of mortal sin.
There are more Christians in America and yet it is the small percentage of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs that run our countries, towns , churches, media, Hollywood, etc
Dolan speaks of charity for ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs and yet no charity for prolife groups.
No wonder satanists from New York will hold black mass in Oklahoma.

No discernment for anyone with deep seated ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ urges.
You need to pray, fast and read the bible go to confession and mass.
With your deep seated urges and thoughts you have sinned.  It is out of love and charity that we tell you this.
