  • I'm trying to find answers about priest and bishops which ones are vaild and which to avoid, I was under a priest who was ordinaned by Bishop Oravec, but I was told that Bishop Oravec validity was questionable, and now I'm just trying to find to truth because if that is the case than my marriage is null and void  (which is a horrific thought). I did go to one of Fr Miller's groups but again heard hearsay about his Bishop. This is all very confusing and bit frightening I have children and I am worried for their spiritual wellbeing. If anyone could kindly help sort out what is the truth and what is just rumors I would be greatful

The husband and wife confer the sacrament, not the Priest. He’s just a Church witness. Did you intend to get married in the Church? Did you do your best to get married in the Church? I presume these answers are yes so do not worry. God is not playing gotcha with Matrimony, but Satan tries to trivialize mortal sin. The Priest isn’t even needed for this sacrament to be valid and doesn’t even need to be present for the marriage should one not be available.

Ditto to the above.  You are definitely married.

  • I don't know of Bishop Oravec but it seems he was consecrated by Bishop Robert McKenna.  If that is so, his orders are valid.  But best to ask someone like Bishop Sanborn (who was also consecrated by Bishop McKenna) who is very knowledgeable about these questions.

If you contact Most Holy Trinity Seminary where Bishop Sanborn is, Fr Desposito usually replies, but he is very good and very helpful:

I have met Bishop Sanborn and three of his priests.  I have found them all to be very knowledgeable, pious, and good-humoured.

  • Ditto to Reply 2 and Reply 3. Put your mind at rest. You are definitely married. Husband and wife minister the Sacrament of Marriage on each other.

  • Thank you for your answers, I  had someone tell me Bishop Oravec was invalid because of of Bishop Felix Davideck consecrated him but the only sources I could find of that was a Wikipedia page and a wiki page so I don't know where that person got that information but acted like it was the truth  I said if that was true  (allegedly Davideck ordained women?) It seemed he made it right with McKenna. This person has wanted me to stop going to the sedevacantist Church but I don't identify as a sedevacantist I'm Catholic I know Vatican 2 is invalid and "Pope Francis " is a anti-pope, and that the Church never changes but it's hard when there's always whispers of this bishop being invalid (this person say that Bishop Tuc and his line are invalid because he was a closet modernist) I just wanted to do what's right by God and for my family

  • https://www.ncronline.org/blogs/ncr-today/secret-church-czechoslovakia-honored Mentions Davidek
And this mentions his Ordinations being questionable:
Czech Church Regularizes Married Priest.  The Czech church recently re-ordained a married father of four, regularizing his clandestine ordination in the 1950s.  An estimated 250 priests and bishops were ordained under “emergency powers” granted by Pius XII to serve the Czech church suffering under Communist persecution. Several women were ordained by Bishop Felix Maria Davidek, but a Vatican declaration in 2000, expressed “serious doubts” about Davidek’s ordinations. (The Tablet, 6/14/08)

  • Please ask Bp Sanborn. I've given contact details above. Don't rely on wikipedia.

  • I might try someone outside of the Thuc line for questions about Thuc priest or Bishops. Every Priest or Bishop would defend his ordaining Bishop and might not give the proper facts.
