  • The title rather explains the question. Excepting Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary in Boston, of which we have heard so many evils, to whom ought a young man (British) turn?

Not the priesthood -- I am utterly unworthy of such a dignity. Rather hoping to be a lay-brother.

PS from the original poster: This is not ''urgent'' in that my poor health entails a wait of some time. Perhaps this was a needless question after all! A better inquiry might have been: are there monasteries under the purview of the Resistance? I am aware of Avrille but my French is fairly poor. Then again, the Lord will provide. Unfortunately I could not afford to go to France on retreat.

  • I have heard Fr. Ortiz and Fr. Ringrose speak of different religious communities which are connected with the Resistance.  I just don't remember much about them or where the different ones are.  Have you tried asking the Resistance priest closest to you for help in this matter?  That is what I would do if I was still considering the religious life. (I learned about three years ago that I did not have a religious vocation.)

Maybe you could even start a string of lay-religious in your area that are traditional Catholic?  I know that there are 3rd order people who used to go to our chapel...  (The only problem is I don't know who or any of the details...)

At any rate, you and your search shall be in my prayers.  Please say a few for me!

Keep fighting and may God bless you!  :-)
