  • Many of the children of our trad chapel go to the affiliated school; many others do not. Those who attend public or home school have the opportunity to attend religion classes. Now the principal is making up stories that the children are taking items out of the desks, the lights are not turned off, the heat/air is changed, etc. All of these lies have been put in writing to our pastor. He believes these lies! The truth is that children are well-behaved and well-supervised. I cannot imagine what the motives of the principal may be. What can we possibly do?

  • it's called PRANKING.  It's kids' stuff.  It's what they do.  Stop taking such offense over this.

It's not about you, your family, or a criticism of your parenting.

No adult would lie about something like this. It's about helping the kid or kids to stop their antics, and respect private property.

The Principal is paid to deal with kidstuff like this.  Get over it!

  • Be grateful the lies are about petty issues, but keep a careful eye out.  My guess is  he's territorial, and maybe fussy like that at home, and thinks people moved his reading glasses and ate the last piece of pie.

We had one who lied about grave matters so we had no choice but to leave.  I would be careful not to jump the gun if it's a matter of your kids not getting traditional Religion classes.  If the religion teachers are good, I would make every effort to tolerate the annoyance you described and somehow make the principal feel more happy about sharing the space.

  • Ha! That brings back memories. When I was a kid and went to Catholic school, anything missing, broken etc was always blamed on the CCD kids. Perfect scapegoats. 1MT

I think you are right. The public school children are seen as lesser than their Catholic school counterparts, who are of course, angelic.

I am not a parent; I am one of the teachers. I will not abandon my students who love their faith and are eager to learn more, just because the principal is an unethical troublemaker.

  • These kind of turf wars over shared space or equipment seem to happen at every church I've been a part of or visited.

Sunday School/CCD Teacher vs the School Teacher over the boundaries of wall decorations.

Crafting Ladies vs The Wed  Night Group's closet not being locked.

Youth Group vs Scouts meeting room cleanliness.

Christian School children's "cubbies" (milk carton crates) being reorganized by the New Janitor who didn't move them behind the black tape.

Lest we forget the battle of Who Is Using All The Nilla Wafer Boxes  between 2 year old Sunday School teacher and the Christian School pre-school teacher. :)

What does he hope to accomplish by this complaining?
