  • How does one save his soul in the absence of Mass, Sacraments, priest, any fellow Catholics?  Changing life circuмstances is presently impossible. Don't believe in Home-Alone, but stranded totally-alone.

  • Have courage - you are not alone. There are many in your situation.

Perform your duty of state to the best of your ability - that's the essential.
Pray the Rosary every day, 15 decades would be best.
On Sunday read your Missal and praying the prayers of the Mass and read the scripture for that day.
Morning offering and Night Prayers. Pray the Daily Office if at all possible.
Have a daily reading on the saint of the day.
    Good spiritual reading.

Of course this all depends on how much free time you have and whether or not you have a family who share your Faith.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • Here is the beautiful and inspiring story of St Mary of Egypt, who lived a penitential life for 47 years absolutely alone in the desert: I love this story which shows that God always provides for those who love him and do His Will: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09763a.htm

It certainly can be discouraging to be a traditional Catholic and not have access to the Sacraments, but you are certainly not alone...

I used to travel between 3 1/2 and 4 hours to and from chapels every weekend in order to be able to attend the Mass.  So, I understand the sacrifices involved and the sorrow of sometimes not being able to go due to distance...

I am the only traditional Catholic in my family and was severely persecuted for becoming a traditional Catholic at first.  So, I can understand things from that point of view also...

I am reminded of the quote from the Bible, "He who persevereth unto the end; he shall be saved."  Have courage and make this your goal: to persevere in the Faith.  We are all here for you to help support you spiritually and emotionally until the day comes when you are able to have access to the Sacraments and traditional Catholics to converse with in person.  Keep fighting the good fight and may God bless you!

  • The Catholics of Japan were without sacraments for over 200 years but persevered in the faith.  Catholicism was banned in the late 1500's and no Catholics returned until mid 1800's.  They were ALONE.

Today at least you have the internet.  Pray the Mass, every day if possible, examine your conscience every day and make Spiritual Communions, pray your Rosary.  You can pray the Divine Office here:  Divinum Officium  Read, read, read, and live the faith by how you conduct yourself every day.

One day God may answer your prayer and make it possible for you to live where you will have access to the sacraments.

  • this is one of the most interesting topics I've found here. I guess bc I know what it's like to not have access to Jesus, meaning Eucharist. There have been times when I didn't have access for reasons only God and I seemed to u/stand. And i didn't know for sure whether--well, it's a very long and weird story. But yeh, i felt very alone.

I guess it goes w/o saying one should PRAY. God never leaves a person. Then there is this: I have often felt closer to God in a nature setting than just about anywhere else.

as some philosopher once said.. something 2 the effect that Only God can be had by all (sounds like a Reagan paraphrase.. LOL but anyway...)
