  • Security is a large subject.

    However, Tor does not mean "security" and it is not well suited for everything.

    Using Tor without a good reason can make the network less secure. If you were going to release a docuмent and you did not want it traced back to you, using Tor would make sense. If you want to securely log into a website, Tor would be less secure.

    You'd be better off using HTTPS whenever possible (https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere), controlling your DNS servers (make a choice about which ones you use), and having a good way to manage your passwords.

    But of course, one has to identify what the risks one is securing against, otherwise, "security" does not exist.
