I didn't mean to post annonymously.

My question related to whether the Mendez consecration even happened (since it was only announced after his death), and whether Thuc was sane, considering he also consecrated people for the Palmarians and such.

Lefebvre, whether his actions were legal or not, would certainly have been sane and valid

I have been studying lots about the old Holy Week before Pius XII reforms, and would like to attend this year.

Problem is that I have not resolved the issues about morality of attending non una cuм Masses by priests who reject Francis as Pope.

Please don’t turn this thread into a debate about pro v anti seed.  I started it because I have a moral dilemma:

If I believe Francis is Pope, can I attend the Triduum at an SSPV church without sinning?  Please explain why yes or no.

I really would like to go, but am scared I would sin if I attend a Mass by one not in communion with Francis, however unholy he may be.
It is not a sin,  it I would talk to a priest before mass. Of you can’t find a priest before mass, don’t receive.

Well, the photos in that link don't actually show the consecration taking place, but I believe that there is a video out there also.  Plus, there were multiple priest witnesses who credibly attest to the fact that it happened.  Only doubt about the Mendez consecration of Bishop Kelly would be that Mendez had recently suffered a stroke and reportedly could not recognize some members of his extended family who had been close to him.  But the level of his cognition had to be no more than that he knew what he was doing, i.e. consecrating, and if he could perform the actual Rite, there's no positive doubt but that he was aware of it.  Was he all there mentally?  Probably not.  But he was undoubtedly there enough to validly consecrate Bishop Kelly.  I would not hesitate to receive the Sacraments from a priest ordained by Bishop Kelly.
