  • Blessed beeswax candles and all. Not sure if it's going to happen though. Have guns and food for the coming apocalypse too!

  • Putting up better blinds and drapes, have blessed beeswax candles, a couple bottles of holywater, blessed palms for the windows, rosaries. Thinking about one of those large 8 in St Ben medals for over the door. Also some canned food and bottled water. What else?

  • Sounds good. Consecrate your house to the Sacred and Immaculate Heart.
    An AR-15 wouldn't hurt either.

  •
Why do many Catholics dwell upon surviving the three days when they will most likely not survive the Chastisement preceding?  Sure, I have blessed candles, etc. but I believe one does better to be sure of his spiritual condition, to be in a state of grace.  St. Martha busied herself with physical preparation; St. Mary sat at Our Lord's Feet.  Jesus said Mary chose the better part.  I am so often not at home-am not right now- that chances are I'll either have died already or be somewhere other than my house!

  • These are all attributed in the sources noted to Bl. Anna-Marie Taigi:

"After the three days of darkness, St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth.  [secondary source] (Birch, pp. 362-363) (Dupont, p.45)

After three days of darkeness Saints Peter and Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach throughout the world and designate a new pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal, the future Pontiff. Then Christianity will spread throughout the world. Whole nations will join the Church shortly before the reign of Antichrist. These conversions will be amazing (Connor, p. 26).

"God will ordain two punishments: one, in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils, will originate on earth; the other will be sent from Heaven." (Connor, p. 21)

"On this terrible occasion so many of these wicked men--enemies of His Church and of their God--shall be killed by this divine scourge that their corpses round Rome will be as numerous as the fish which a recent inundation of the Tiber had carried into the city. All the enemies of the church, secret as well as known, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of the some few, whom God will soon after convert. The air shall be infected with demons, who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms. (Connor, p.26)

Whole nations will come back to the Church and the face of the earth will be renewed. Russia, England, and China will come into the Church. (Dupont, p.45)

"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing will be visible, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion."

France shall fall into a frightful anarchy. The French shall have a desperate cινιℓ ωαr in the course of which even old men will take up arms. The political parties, having exhausted their blood and their rage without being able to arrive at any satisfactory settlement, shall agree at the last extremity to have recourse to the Holy See. Then the Pope shall send to France a special legate...In consequence of the information received, His Holiness himself shall nominate a most Christian King for the government of France. (Dupont, p.45)

    -----------------

'There will come three days of complete darkness. Only blessed candles made of wax will give some light during this horrible darkness. One candle will last for three days, but they will not give light in the house of the Godless. Lightning will penetrate your houses, but it will not put out the blessed candles. Neither wind, nor storm, nor earthquake will put out the blessed candles.'

Marie de La Fraudais (19th-20th Century) [stigmatic]

'There shall be three days of darkness. Not one demons shall be left in hell. They shall all come out, either to excite the wicked murderers, or to dishearten the just. This shall be frightful! frightful! but a grand cross shall aappear, and the triumphs of the Church will make peopele quickly forget all evils.'

    Palma Maria (19th century)

[I don't know much about the second one, the former I have a small booklet on I have to read more closely.]

"The death of the impenitent persecutors of the Church will take place during the three days of darkness. He who survives those three days of darkness and horror will see himself as if alone, because the earth will be covered with cadavers".

St. Gaspar del Bufalo, founder of the Fathers of the Precious Blood, - d. 1837 [source?] [THE THREE DAY'S DARKNESS: PROPHECIES OF SAINTS AND SEERS by Albert J. Hebert, S.M.?] [Birch's book too]

    ---

For what it's worth, that's what I have in a note file I keep of prophecy citations on the subject. Could use more material. Wish had the primary sources. Prophecy citations have to be more careful with than normal citations, difficulties tend to occur more often. Please excuse the roughness of the post it's just from my notes, and double check anything as necessary. I'm concerned one part might not be a direct quote for example, but someone might've turned it into one. Just posting this for clarification.
    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • 'And the Lord said to Moses: Stretch out they hand towards heaven: and may there be darkness upon the land of Egypt, so thick that it may be felt.

And Moses stretch forth his hand towards heaven: and there came horrible darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.

No man saw his brother, nor moved himself out of the place where he was: but wheresoever the children of Israel dwelt there was light.'

    Exodus 10:21-23

    I am not ready either.

I've heard something similar and I do not believe it at all.  What I heard was that you will hear your family and friends begging for your help, and that if you open your door to help them, you will be killed.  I believe this to be utter nonsense.  Why would God, who taught us to love our neighbor as ourself, test us in such a manner where we have to ignore pleas for help from our loved ones (or anyone else for that matter) in order to live?  It sounds like he opposite of the Parable of the Good Samaritan to me.

  • I've heard that you should cover your windows and doors and not look outside, which will be full of demons and people crazed with fear. Since the only glimmers of light will be from blessed candles they will be attracted, but I don't think Our Lady would allow them to harm those huddling inside.

This is another problem I have with certain "extra details" about the Three Days of Darkness.  Why would looking outside be bad if there is no light whatsoever, except for flames from blessed candles in the homes of the devout?  If you did look outside, you wouldn't be able to see anything except for utter darkness.  I've even heard this taken to the extreme by some people who are prepared to tape garbage bags over their windows, as if garbage bags will protect them from Satan and his minions.

I'm not saying that I do not believe in the Three Days of Darkness generally, but all of these "extra details" often either don't make sense or are contrary to how we are supposed to live (e.g. refusing to come to the aid of those begging for help is actually rewarded by God).
